Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 3, 2026
1. Overview
Hadith Node is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal data, we don't track you, and we don't maintain user accounts. This policy explains our actual practices.
TL;DR:
- Free users: No data collection, no tracking, no personal info
- Paid users: Your bookmarks, notes, and highlights sync to your own iCloud account — we never see or access this data
- We never: Sell data, run analytics, use tracking, or maintain a user database
2. No User Accounts
Hadith Node has no user account system. You don't need to create an account, provide your name, email, or any personal information to use the app.
For paid features: You use your existing Apple ID to manage subscriptions through the App Store. Your Apple ID is managed by Apple, not by us.
3. What Data We Collect
Free Tier Users
ZERO personal data collection. Free users:
- Browse hadith offline
- Use local search and AI search
- Receive daily hadith notifications
- Change reading preferences (theme, font, size)
All of this happens locally on your device. We collect nothing.
Paid Tier Users
Paid subscribers can sync bookmarks, notes, highlights, and reading progress across devices using Apple's CloudKit (iCloud).
Data stored in your iCloud account:
- Bookmark references (hadith IDs, timestamps)
- Note text and associated hadith
- Highlight positions and colors
What Apple handles:
- Encryption in transit and at rest
- Account security
- Backup and storage
- Access control
What we don't do:
- We can't read your synced data
- We don't download it to our servers
- We don't analyze it
- We don't have access to your iCloud credentials
Device Information
When you use the app, your device automatically shares device type (iPhone model), iOS version, and app version. This is used only for basic debugging and compatibility. No personal identification included.
4. What We DO NOT Do
- ✗ No tracking - We don't track your hadith reading history
- ✗ No analytics - No Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar services
- ✗ No crash reporting to third parties - Errors stay on your device or go to Apple
- ✗ No ads or advertising networks - No Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, or ad trackers
- ✗ No profiling - We don't build a profile of your interests
- ✗ No selling data - We have no data to sell
- ✗ No personal accounts - No database of users
- ✗ No email collection - Unless you contact us for support
5. Notifications
Daily hadith notifications are scheduled using iOS's push notification system. We don't:
- Track which notifications you open
- Know when or if you read them
- Store any data about notification engagement
- Collect notification data
You control notifications:
- Set time and frequency in the app
- Disable anytime in app settings or iOS settings
6. Subscription and Payments
Subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles your payment method, billing information, and subscription status.
What we receive from Apple:
- Whether your subscription is active
- Subscription renewal date
- Subscription type (monthly/annual/lifetime)
We use this only to show/hide paid features. We don't see your payment method or personal payment details.
7. Your Data Rights
Access Your Data
Your bookmarks, notes, and highlights are stored in your iCloud account. You can access them by using iCloud's backup features through Apple or requesting a data export via our contact form.
Delete Your Data
You can delete:
- Bookmarks, notes, highlights in the app anytime
- Preferences (auto-deleted when you uninstall)
When you unsubscribe from paid features, your synced data is automatically deleted from iCloud within 30 days (Apple's standard).
Data Portability
Since your data is in iCloud, it's already portable. You can access it via iCloud.com, back it up through Apple, or use it with other apps that support iCloud sync.
8. International Compliance
We comply with privacy laws worldwide:
- GDPR (EU/UK) - Your rights to access, delete, and port data are built in
- CCPA (California) - We don't sell data, so no opt-out needed
- Other regions - We follow local privacy requirements

- CloudKit - For syncing (Apple's encryption and security apply)
